Our Approach

At Indemnity, we love insurance. And when it works, we quite like insurers too.

But many claims are complex, and sometimes this means that coverage disputes arise. Cutting through that complexity, and resolving those disputes, is why Indemnity was founded.

Our mission is to ensure that every valid insurance claim is paid, however complicated it might be.

About Us

Expertise and integrity when it matters most.

At Indemnity, we fight steadfastly to resolve insurance disputes as efficiently and cost-effectively as possible. Our approach to dispute resolution is informed by our experience of how the market approaches a complex coverage issue, and driven by our desire to resolve disputes in a way that respects a properly functioning insurance market and the relationships within it.

1

Expert

We’re the only firm whose entire team consists entirely of lawyers with experience of working for or in the insurance market. This gives us a unique understanding of the market’s approach to coverage disputes and an ability to see the priorities and concerns of every stakeholder involved.

2

Principled

We believe in doing the right thing by our people and our clients, and respecting the market and our opponents. We do not pursue unmeritorious claims, nor do we accept instructions where we consider the insurer involved has reached the correct coverage position.

3

Wholehearted

We’re passionate about what we do: we’re trained not just in the law, but in insurance practice, too. We’re committed to making sure the market delivers on its promises, and have a strong pro-bono commitment to making our expertise available to those who can’t afford it.

Pro Bono

As a leading team of specialist insurance lawyers acting for policyholders, we recognise that, for many policyholders, our services will be unaffordable. Yet, the vast majority of coverage disputes in England & Wales exist amongst that group.

Indemnity accepts a number of instructions each year from policyholders who would otherwise be unable to meet our fees where they are facing real harm, or where the insurance law issues involved are of wider public importance.
